Call for Teachers in the South - Fill in questionnaire Education For All

15/12/2014

To mark World Teachers Day, The Education For All (EFA) Global Monitoring Report (GMR) has released a new policy paper and new infographics with the UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS) showing the persistent chronic shortage of trained teachers around the world.

The paper shows the extent of the teacher gap now, and the numbers that will be needed to join the profession by 2020 and 2030 in order to achieve universal primary education. The GMR also shows that rushing to fill the teacher gap has meant that many countries are hiring teachers with little or no training. As a result, providing already working teachers with training is a far larger task for some countries than hiring new candidates to the profession.

Complementing this publication, the EFA GMR also launched an online questionnaire for teachers around the world to help provide insight on some of the key themes appearing in the EFA GMR 2015 due out next year.

So fill in the questionnaire, share it with your fellow teachers and be part of the EFA GMR 2015!
